Description:  Discovered in an open field in the Strathmore area, yet native to Siberia, this drought tolerant specimen is very adaptable to many different soil types, and is highly tolerant to urban pollution when established. The Silver Willow has a fantastic silver color in summer months.
Ornamental Features: One of the most notable features of the Silver Willow is its silvery-gray foliage, which gives it a soft, shimmering appearance, particularly in the breeze. The leaves are long and slender, and the tree’s bark is often light gray to silver.
Landscape Attributes: Â Dense deciduous tree with a more or less rounded form. Known for its fast growth and tolerance for wet soil. Best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed.
