Description: Multi-stemmed small tree with lovely hanging clusters of white blooms in spring are followed by dark fruit in summer. Stunning accent or shade tree.
Ornamental Features: Chains of fragrant white flowers hanging below the branches in mid spring. It has attractive deep purple foliage which emerges green in spring. The fruits are showy red drupes with purple overtones and carried in abundance in mid summer; excellent for baking, jams and jellies and wine-making. Self-pollinating.
Landscape Attributes: Deciduous tree with a more or less rounded form. Best pruned in late winter. It is a good choice for attracting birds to your yard.
