Monarda didyma ‘Balmy Pink’
Description: Commonly known as Beebalm, Monarda ‘Balmy Pink’ is a dwarf cultivar of the native North American wildflower Monarda didyma. A member of the Mint family, it is a clump-forming perennial that produces pretty pink flowerheads for a long period starting in late spring.
Ornamental Features: This dwarf variety features beautiful candy pink, fluffy flowerheads adored by pollinators, butterflies, and hummingbirds! Sturdy, square-shaped stems create a lower profile than full-sized Monarda cultivars that won’t flop over. Beautiful in summer wildflower bouquets, the aromatic foliage is edible and can be added to salads or herbal teas.
Landscape Features: Makes a striking addition to perennial borders or pollinator gardens. Perfect for massing or as an accent plant. Very attractive to pollinators, but ignored by deer and rabbits. Deadheading spent blooms will prolong the flowering period.
