Description: The Fat Albert spruce tree is a very hardy, dense selection of Colorado spruce with a unique growth habit. This variety retains the beautiful silver blue needles and cold tolerance of the Colorado spruce in a more compact form. They tolerate a wide range of well-drained soils, but not standing water.
Ornamental Features: Stunning blue foliage emerges silvery blue in spring, and provides a beautiful contrast against the snow in winter. The rough gray bark adds an interesting texture to the landscape.
Landscape Attributes: A dense evergreen tree with a strong central leader and wide pyramidal form. A superb choice for unique color and shape that fills in gaps between weeping or columnar tree forms beautifully.
