Description: One of the hardiest sour cherry varieties available. A small, tree-form cherry with black fruit, small pits and a moderately sweet flavor. Fruit is one of the first cherry varieties to ripen for a late July harvest. Fruit is great for eating fresh, cooking, baking, jams, jellies, and wine-making.
Ornamental Features: Carmine Jewel Cherry is draped in clusters of fragrant white flowers along the branches in early spring. Makes a stunning statement before the leaves emerge. It has dark green foliage throughout the season. Leaves turn yellow in the fall.
Landscape Attributes: Deciduous tree with a more or less rounded form. Best pruned in late winter. It is a good choice for attracting birds to your yard.
