Description

Description: A medium-sized evergreen with a pyramidal habit becoming more open and flat-topped with age. Needles are a rich, deep green, slightly curved and around 3″ long, held at the branch tips in clusters of five. The cones are thickly-scaled, oval, and about 8″ long in a bright green when young and becoming yellow brown at maturity.

Ornamental Features:  This extremely adaptable coniferous tree makes an excellent specimen tree. It’s deep green coloration and thickly clustered needles make it stand out in the landscape. 

Landscape Attributes:  A very low maintenance choice; does not require pruning or shaping. Drought resistant and tolerant of dry soils once established. Deer resistant.

 

 

Limber Pine is a small to medium pine growing approx 30 feet tall and 15 feet wide.

Dense broad, pyramidal when young becoming flat topped when mature.

Branching is flexible and twisty. Less suseptible to salt and winterburn than other pines. lon lived pine, can live up to 1000 years.
