Description: Absolutely beautiful! Ponderosa Pine is a large, fast growing, evergreen with a pyramidal habit of growth, long green needles, large cones, and furrowed cinnamon-brown bark. Native to the Rocky Mountains, and the ideal choice as a specimen, windbreak, or for shelterbelt plantings.
Ornamental Features: Â Â Needles are dark green, aromatic, bundles of three, and between 5 to 8 inches long. The bark is cinnamon-brown, and stands out as lower branches are removed as the tree matures.
Landscape Attributes: Hardy for Alberta climate. Low maintenance, drought tolerant, and wildlife resistant.
