Description: A very rugged and hardy, compact shrub with tiny blue-green leaves and a profusion of rusty red buttercup-type flowers. A reliable and long blooming shrub well-suited to prairie landscapes.
Ornamental Features: Large, vermillion red cup-shaped flowers appear at the ends of the branches in late spring. Flowers are a unique orangey red with yellow centres, giving the whole shrub the appearance of a vibrant sunset. Bluish-green foliage throughout the season turns yellow in the fall.
Landscape Attributes: Dense multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with a dwarf spreading habit of growth. Low maintenance; best pruned in late winter. Deer resistant. Drought tolerant once established.
