Malus ‘Jade Bouquet’
‘Jade Bouquet’ Columnar Crabapple
Description: Gorgeous tree with an upright columnar habit of growth. Stunning clusters of eye-catching rosy pink buds burst into white flowers in spring. Followed by dark green to purple leaves, and tiny bright red pomes. Great as an accent tree or summer privacy screen.
Ornamental Features: Delightful rosy buds appear in early spring before the leaves. The buds become a profusion of pure white flowers, followed by dark green to almost purple foliage. Leaves turn an outstanding golden yellow in the fall. Fruit is small (1″ diameter) and starts out light green. Develops a beautiful rosy blush before ripening bright red in fall.
Fruit persists into winter and is highly ornamental against the white snow.
Landscape Attributes: A small deciduous tree that looks beautiful all growing season long. Low maintenance; little pruning is necessary. Winter hardiness and high resistance to disease. Birds will visit the tree throughout the winter to feed on the showy berry-like pomes.
