Description: An exceptionally unique cultivar of the classic purple coneflower, featuring extra long, downward curving, bi-colour petals! As its name suggests, the petals make this flowerhead look just like a pretty summer parasol!
Ornamental Features: The petals on this interesting variety are held on a downward angle rather than straight out like other varieties. The petals radiate around a golden centre that deepens to chocolate brown as the flower ages. The petals emerge from the centre cone in a deep purple, fading to almost pure white at the ends, creating an outstanding ombre effect. Makes a spectacular cut flower for summer wildflower bouquets.
Landscape Features: This upright and hardy perennial will be visited by bees and butterflies throughout the long blooming season. Hardier than other new cultivars, ‘Pretty Parasols’ is as great in structured borders as it is in prairie or cottage gardens. Drought tolerant and deer resistant.
