Description: ‘Lava Lamp’ is a hybrid selection of Heuchera villosa, an Eastern North American native. Featuring slightly ruffled leaves in vivid red shades and spikes of creamy white flower spikes in early summer.
Ornamental Features: Spectacularly showy foliage forms a mound of large leaves in shades ranging from coppery orange new growth to a deeper red, and finally to a purple red as cooler weather approaches. Leaf veining in slightly darker shades gives the foliage depth and texture. Provides a wonderful pop of colour in shady areas.
Landscape Features: Used in mass planting, rock/alpine gardens, border edging, general garden use, groundcover, container planting. Hummingbirds are attracted to the nectar produced by the flowers.
