Description:
Perennial Chives are a hardy and versatile herbaceous perennial, valued for both ornamental and culinary use. Their slender, hollow green leaves have a mild onion flavor and can be harvested fresh throughout the growing season. In late spring to early summer, they produce attractive, globe-shaped purple flowers that are not only edible but also appealing in the garden. Chives thrive in sunny, well-drained locations and are excellent for edging herb gardens, borders, or containers. Cut back after flowering to encourage fresh leaf growth and prevent self-seeding. Easy to grow, tolerant of drought once established, and can be divided every few years in spring or fall.
