Description: Commonly known as Helen’s Flower or Sneezeweed, Helenium is a genus of North American native wildflowers that are highly valued for their late summer display of bright, daisy-like flowers. ‘Sahin’s Early’ is an award-winning midsized variety featuring petals that open deep red and develop orange and yellow streaks.
Ornamental Features: Very attractive as cut flowers and excellent in the border or naturalistic areas such as prairies or meadows. Looks stunning planted in mass, and mixes beautifully with late summer blooming ornamental grasses and perennials.
Landscape Features: Good resistance to most insects and diseases, and attracts butterflies and other pollinators. May require staking to prevent flopping, or pinch in June to reduce the height at blooming time, if desired. Easily increased by dividing in the spring. Deer and rabbit resistant.
